Merrick Farm Nature CenterFollowing a several month review of needs and feasibility, the Cromwell Valley Park Council has forwarded a Usage Plan Proposal to the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks to establish the Educational and Nature Center at the Merrick Farm. This comprehensive plan incorporates the home, buildings, and grounds into a unique site for children and adults to appreciate the rural tradition of the farm and its natural environment of birds, animals, aquatic life, and gardens. Educational programs will be expanded and the facilities upgraded to meet the increased use and appreciation of the Park. The historic kilns will be stabilized and subsequently renovated to reveal their role in the Civil War era economy of Cromwell Valley. |
