AGE RESTRICTIONS:  Volunteers must be ages 13 + and anyone under the age of 18 MUST have a parent present at all times.  

We will remove invasive plants from the park and in warmer weather, also plant natives and maintain restored habitat – great opportunities for high school students for community service and volunteers who like to work outdoors.

Clothing: Long pants protect your legs!  Please also wear toe-closed shoes, bring sunscreen, a hat, water bottle and insect repellent if desired –please bring your own gloves and tools if you have them – we do have some extras but not many. Avoid knit clothing that could catch on thorny shrubs.

We usually meet at the back of the Sherwood House, 2002 Cromwell Bridge Rd, Baltimore, MD 21234.   However, we do alternate between two locations close to each other, the Sherwood House and Willow Grove Farm.

If you are a new volunteer, please send an e-mail to [email protected]  to find out the location – as of Feb. 1 we will be working at Willow Grove Farm for a couple of months.  If you are already on the contact list, you will receive an e-mail about the location, weather, etc., before the session.

Volunteer dates are canceled in the case of heavy rain, thunderstorms/snow or extremely cold/hot temperatures.

Should you require special accommodations (i.e., language interpreter, large print, etc.) please give as much notice as possible by calling the Park Office, or the Therapeutic office at 410.887.5370.

Please note: Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to participate.  Minors must have a waiver signed by their parents in order to participate, including minors of groups supervised by adults from schools, community groups, etc.
